Un peu de moi :
A BIT ABOUT ME

Ibis.png

Hello and welcome!  My name is Alex Kochan and I am a prospective French and ESL teacher located in Southeast Michigan. When I'm not busy teaching, you can often find indulging my creative side in some other capacity; practicing my steady hand, working with charcoal or graphite - otherwise, I'm up to my neck in unfinished philosophy books I've yet to get through. With all that built up energy sitting still, I play hockey or ice skate with my friends. On weekends, I tend to end up at the Detroit Institute of Arts when I go out, or making art with my friends at home.

With the directory at the top, you can find links to all of my professional documents, samples of my work, as well as more about my experiences as an educator and language learner.

What it Means to Learn

Learning is more than rote memorization; it's a journey of discovery and growth. Rooted in curiosity and fueled by intrinsic motivation, it's about exploring passions, asking meaningful questions, and embracing challenges. In my classroom, learning is collaborative, with students exchanging ideas and co-creating knowledge. It's about fostering a sense of belonging and resilience, where failure is seen as a stepping stone to success. Ultimately, learning is a lifelong pursuit that enriches our lives and empowers us to make a positive impact on the world. As an educator, it's my privilege to inspire, guide, and join my students on this transformative journey.

Get In Touch

Right now, I am seeking a multilingual position where I can use my IB, French, and/or ESL
